Julio Caro is a veteran entertainment executive with extensive experience in physical production, creative management, and distribution.

He currently serves as a senior advisor at AMSI Entertainment, a production and distribution company founded by entertainment lawyer Simran Singh. AMSI’s feature documentary In Whose Name?, directed by Nico Ballesteros, premiered theatrically in September 2025. Other projects include Selena y Los Dinos, a documentary directed by Isabel Castro, which won the U.S. Documentary Special Jury Award at the Sundance Film Festival and will be released by Netflix in November 2025.

Caro began his career in corporate banking before transitioning to the entertainment industry with Radical Media, where he guided the company’s expansion into film entertainment content and collaborated with leading commercial directors such as Tarsem Singh, Alan White, and Antony Hoffman. He produced Erskineville Kings (2002), starring Hugh Jackman and Joel Edgerton in their feature film debuts.

He went on to co-found Nuyorican Productions with Jennifer Lopez. As an executive, he helped manage first-look agreements with Columbia Pictures, Fox Television Studios, and Telemundo. He collaborated with Lopez on films including Shall We Dance and Monster-in-Law, and produced El Cantante, co-starring Marc Anthony and directed by the late Leon Ichaso.

Caro has also specialized in the business and creative development of Latin content. He was executive in charge of production on projects such as the Spanish-language scripted series El Ganador (Netflix Originals, 2018) and Bravas (YouTube Originals, 2019), as well as the documentary Maluma: Lo Que Era, Lo Que Soy, Lo Que Seré (YouTube Originals, 2019).

He is a graduate of Cornell University’s College of Arts & Sciences.

Of Dominican heritage, Caro is fluent in Spanish.
